    vbseo canonical

    can someone tell me is vbseo canonical correct?

    It seems wrong to me somehow, all the pages that have the parameter "page" in itself should show the canonical tag at URLsthemes, URL categories, etc.

    Currently showing each to themselves. For example, issue:

    http://www.croportal.net/forum/forum...e-22449/page3/

    has:

    <link rel="canonical" href="http://www.croportal.net/forum/forum-category/thread-name-22449/page3/" />

    All of my member pages got cached on a rogue parked URL. Any way to fix?

    Do you control that domain? If so, you should have parked it and have a catch-all in place so anyone accessing it is re-directed to the main url.

    Yes, my root .htaccess file got replaced by someone and I have links coming into some old sites that had formerly been landing pages, then 301 redirects ... now these pages are being cached at a rate of like 1,000 in the past few days. :-(

    Having the page in the url is correct. It's the proper url for that resource.

    It's so that any other urls that may not properly redirect, or users mis-type, get stored on google as the correct url.

    I would like to see a canonical tag on all of the pages so that something like what I experienced won't happen again. I got over 20,000 pages indexed to the parked urls in about 3 days.

    I want both the "catch-all" redirect and also some file specific redirects done too. My host can't seem to figure that out.

    I have pages that don't have canonical tags on them when I look at the source. For example, the member profile pages.
