    vB seo 3.5 & vBulletin 4.0.1

    I just upgraded my board to vBulletin 4.0.1

    Can someone point me to the link to download vBseo 3.5?

    Do I completely uninstall the older vBseo, overwrite? I assume there are instructions in the download.

    All input to this matter greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!!

    Hi Robert,

    vBSEO 3.5 is currently in Release Candidate stage, you can get RC2 *Pre-Release* in the download section.

    If you are coming from vB3.x then you will want to
    • Disable the current vBSEO from your adminCP
    • Upload the new files from vBSEO3.5
    • Include the .xml file and select "Allow overwrite" in the adminCP
    • Visit your vbseocp.xml and set your password.

    If you are simply upgrading from vB4.0 - vB4.0.1 then you don't need to upgrade vBSEO.

    Thanks for your response.

    Since I upgraded from vBulletin 3.8.4 to vBulletin 4.0.1 my URL changed slightly (I assume this has happened to everyone who upgraded?).

    Does this affect me with installing vBseo 3.5?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    What sort of change, have you gained/lost a directory or do you just mean the basic non-vBSEO URL's have changed?

    I'm really kind of ignorant with this stuff. Can someone answer my question(s)? I don't want to install vBseo 3.5 and screw up more URL's any further (of course I'm not sure as to how to get my URL's back as per my question).

    Thanks!

    I don't see anything for vBseo 3.5 in my AdminCP?

    EDIT: I see it but it's for vBseo 3.3.2

    Hi Robert,

    I am sorry I missed your replies, you can download vBSEO 3.5 from the download section http://www.vbseo.com/downloads/.

    With vB 4.0.1 you can place the index.php file in the domain root then rename forum.php to index.php in the forum folder so you can still have

    CMS ------> domain.com/
    Forum ----> domain.com/forum/
    Blog -------> domain.com/blog.php OR domain.com/blog/

    If you want help with actually getting this setup once you have upgrade just open a ticket and we will be happy to help.

    You will need to install vbseo 3.5 rc2 regardless, as 3.3.2 is not compatible with vb4.

    I realize that but I do the URL fix first, right? Then install vBseo 3.5 RC2.

    What makes it more important is that now I have 2 slashes in my URL's So, I'd like to fix those first since vBseo will work with the URL's.

    If I open up a ticket as Ceri May suggested how long would it take for you to do it?
    Would I just leave a copy of vB 3.5.2 RC2 in a folder on my server for you to use or you would just get the download for me yourself?

    Please advise. Thanks.
