vB Enterprise Translator mod questions

I have seen one or two posts on here have been locked after discussions about the now redundant, no longer in existence similar mod to this new one.

The main concerns that seemed to be picked on were the cache system for the translated threads and the API key

Option to add Google Translate API key for translation requests
- Configurable cache time to live and scheduled task which automatically remove old cache

I also have a footer link in place to google for their translation service.

Im not running any kind of cache on my forum. With the cache turned off, the translated pages still load at a fair speed,

With all the translated pages listed in the sitemap, am I still in violation of the Google TOS and face some kind of penalty if caught

What are the views of you guys in the know with all things SEO in mind

Our official stance on translation products is that we do not advise any of our customers to use them. They break link consensus.

i think you need to check this add on again, the author has taken care of link consensus by making everything as prescribed by google...

Regardless of if this new version fixes things that break our core product, and the Google TOS, the latest version has less than 50 downloads. This is not something that we are going to consider at this time. It simply isn't popular enough to devote the effort to it.

Further, the demo doesn't even work correctly.

recent posts in the sidebar, footer, and other areas are not translated at all.

And finally, there's mixed native with the english because of the poor translation quality.

Actually still no because all threads are still using the same id. As we explained several times , each translated page should have unique id.

what about the official google widget

Google widget is not similar to what this mod does. One is for global usage , one is for personal site usage.

my vbulletin is? hmm global use?

I Can use google widget by integrating it in navbar maybe?

Over 300 forums claims that has it installed and seeing number of previous downloads I estimate that over 1000 forums are using it.

Also - what kind of effort are you writing about???...

It works perfectly as it is designed. How can you say that something isn't working correctly if you do not know how it suppose to work? vBET officially doesn't support translation of Java Script content as possibly to harmful. Content of page is translated well.

Translation quality is as it supports Google, but what it have common with link consensus?

And are you able to give any reason as SEO master? Because I saw here nothing about SEO, just that personally you think that quality of translation isn't perfect. I have dozens of multi language discussions on my forum where people understand each other very well But going back to the issue - I'm sure that you all have your own preferences, somebody likes hod-dogs, some one prefer pizza, other not like automatic translations. But those are your personal issues and here people are asking for business answer. And in my opinion your answer is against good business of your customers and you are not able to give any business reason to support your statement.

This is also supported in vBET 3.x version: vB Enterprise Translator features - vBulletin Enterprise Translator (vBET)

So according to your comment I understand that in your opinion vBET 3.x is much better that vBET 2.x because 2.x doesn't support URL translation and 3.x does.

We've been through this 100 times.

We AREN'T supporting this modification.
