i still don't understand what the big deal is about this site. it's really not even that big... IMO, it has one too many zero's on it.

He is selling all his sites and not just the forum. The money may be too much but no one but himself knows how much time and money was invested into all his site's. Just have to see what he does after a month or few week's since the price is a little too high. For that price all the sites that come along with the forum should be #1 in google.

based on what i've HEARD of iNET, they won't be paying even close to that either. No idea if it's true or not, but I hear they generally pay $x per member.

If he is making that revenue numbers :

PayPal receipts:

Nov: 12,349.05
Dec: 39,246.70
Jan: 27,660.40

Those do not include 2checkout, Adsense, or direct wire transfers. 2CO usually isn't more than a couple thousand, Adsense is minimal, and wire transfers haven't been too much these days.

It may not be a really bad because the buyer can re earn the invested money around 18 month. However what is important is the expenses of the site. One thing is sure , it won't be an easy sale.

I haven't checked sitepoint today but how many server's do you think he is using for his whole network? Or is it 1 good one?

Think i'll go over and read what all the comment's are on sitepoint. That'll be better then reading the junk mail i got today from the mail man.

Yes, didn't take me long to finish reading where i left off. Perhaps this is a bad month to try and sell such a huge site. O well, time to get some food.

If you are good at promoting the site, it is worth investing as you could sell ad spaces and directory submission as well as web hosting.

v7n.com Reasonabe $500,000 Price Tag...

I have been a member there and I can tell you he never offered me a product by email...if you email a $47 "make money" "whatever quality pitch offering" for an eBook to the entire database (38,000 approximatly) x 30% email openings (11,400 openings in less than 72hrs) and about 2.2% who open the email actually purchase through your paypal $47 eBook (in which equals 250 buyers if you do the math) ...

250 x $47.00 eBook = $11,750 Gross - (5.5% Paypal Fees or actual one as example)

$11,104 Net Profits... for one potential mailing from his database... lol

Pitch a $97 or $200 high ticket price item to the database...and you probably can recuperate the $500k in 1 year and rent a bahamas island next year...lol

Joaquin, that's a good way to kill a forum. The minute I start getting SPAM advertisements from the admin is the minute I stop visiting, put the site in my email blacklist and complain loudly on other forums.
