Using a Blog to Supplement Your Forums

Anyone doing this effectively? I'm looking to use some blog software (vBlogetin) to provide a better way to view news like articles about the topic of my forums. Good/Bad idea?

Good idea...
iq69.com just started doing that.

I would recommend WordPress if it will be only you(or mods) doing the blogging...

yeh, I was thinking of using wordpress, but I don't like how it would act like a different site all together, which is why I'm leaning towards vblogetin

I am in the middle of setting up a Wordpress blog for articles in addition to vB. I have been using vBAdvanced so far, but I have figured I have needs that go beyond its capabilities. I am going to use this plugin to integrate user db, comments and so on.
