so we look for "define('VBSEO_REWRITE_MEMBER_MORECHARS', 1);" in config_vbseo.php and do what thanks? like what do we change?
I'd suggest the option #2 from that post: keep VBSEO_REWRITE_MEMBER_MORECHARS setting to 0 and change member URL format instead.

ok i will have a look and see what i can do, its taking a little getting used of how everything works.
at the moment i dont no how to change member URL format, but i'll try now.

You should also change member URL format in vBSEO CP as described above.
