    The use of rel=nofollow

I just wanted to point out that the use of rel=nofollow on places like member profiles (that's built into default vbulletin) is a really bad idea.

rel=nofollow does not preserve pagerank, that pagerank is still sent to those links to member profiles, regardless of whether the page receives the benefits.

rel=nofollow is to say "I don't trust the link I've listed here" but it doesn't mean "The link on this page doesn't exist".

I think vbseo being a SEO product for vbulletin should focus on using meta noindex, follow tags on the bad pages, instead of leaving it how vbulletin is at default and everyone just throwing valuable page weight down the drain.

    Nick,

Do you have a reference for info related to Google passing PageRank to rel=nofollow links?

    Hi Joe,

No, I don't. But it's well known that rel=nofollow isn't for PR hoarding, it simply means the PR is never received by the end site. The actual link still counts on your end though.
