    URL question

My site is www.pebforum.com . My most important keyword is "Physical Evaluation Board."

I am wondering what is best URL to capture this from SEO (especially in google) point of view.

    Is www. physicalevaluationboard.com best?
or is www . physical-evaluation-board.com best?

I figure that vBSEO can re-write URLs, but I am talking about in the normal case without re-writing.

    Thanks!

You are already #2 in Google, therefore, I would not change your domain.

While hyphens give clearer keyword breakup within the domain, they look bad, especially for longer domain names.

I think you would do fine with the version containing no hyphens.

Choosing which version to use would require analysis for each individual site, weighing how much SEO benefit could possibly be added by using one vs. another, and also how it impacts general marketing.

Thanks, now what about masking a domain?

Okay, I will leave it be. But I do own physicalevaluationboard.com . My next question is do I gain any benefit to "masking" the URL to pebforum.com? Or do I risk some sort of double content penalty? I currently have the longer URL set to show pebforum.com. Should I submit the longer URL to google?

    Thanks again!

You should just 301 redirect the other domain to your current one. Don't let them both point at the same.

Alternatively you could put content on the other such as articles only, and then use the pebforum.com domain for the forum exclusively.

    More questions: URL parsing

I hope I am right, it is called parsing when SE/Google takes out extraneous characters/words, if not, that is what I mean.

In URLs, is it neccesary, better, irrelevant, or bad to have the word "of" included? I am considering buying a URL, that contains the keywords for Disability Board of Review .

    What is best?: www.
disabilityboardreview, (shorter and carries all the keywords)
disabilityboardofreview, (contains the exact phrase, looks a little
funny, maybe more errors in typing it)
disabilityreviewboard , (words out of order, but maybe easier to
remember & carries all important keywords).

Part of me thinks that so long as it carries the keywords, the SE should pick it up no matter what order it appears in, is this true (i.e, is there relative value to britneyspears.com over spearsbritney.com...well before brit's breakdown, you get the idea)?

Also, is there a link somewhere to parsing rules that SE's use (I am interested in what is ignored by SE's).

Thanks, and I hope this makes sense

I would not include a full phrase. Google does not expect full phrases to occur in the domain. Main keywords should be sufficient. However, keep them in the right order for best results.
