Does interlinking between your own websites on the same ip address (same server) still carry a penalty as discussed in the post earlier in this topic from 2006? Two domains - same content - bad idea?

If I have multiple forums on the same dedicated server, is it bad to link them to one another?

I believe it will depend on the way you do it... Google wants quality and if you try to get a higher PR by interlinking, or if they think you are doing it for that reason, you may get a penalty.

If you interlink for a better user experience it will be no problem.
