    Question Translate a forum/category name's ?

    Hi

how to translate please a forum or a category name from langage to another ?
i want to give users different forum name's if they change langage.

i'd founded a vb3 mod who can do that:
Localize (translate) forum name, forum titles & forum descriptions - vBulletin.org Forum

    regards

vbseo has no provisions for multiple languages. Creating more than one url to 1 resource breaks the entire concept of link consensus of which is one of our product's core advantages.

If you are going to use a mod like this, you should be using Id's only in the urls, ie
/f123/ so that the url doesn't change.

Thank you Brian i didnt know that it will crash the SEO url building,

if i well understand i must use only IDs in the url format, i must display only the forum name's on forumdisplay and not urls.
i will tell that to the coder in vb.org who sayed to me that he will release a new version for vb4

    if
    /hi/
    and
    /hola/

both load the same content, but a different language, this is also not good. According to google, if you use multiple langauges, the urls should be prefixed with the lang code.

The ideal solution is to have .com load english and .es load the spanish version.

ok now i understand, the best solution is to create another domain name for the second langage,

in my case the original board langage is french (mysite.fr) and the second langage is english (mysite.com),
how i configure that on vbulletin ? purchase another vbulletin+vbseo licenses and duplicate all content !!

Yes, it will require new linceses for both vb and vbseo.

there are products on .org that let you run multiple domains on 1 database.

the key is to only show the french categories and topics on .fr and the english topics on .com

thank you again thats a great hack ! it redirect .com to specific forums and .fr to anothers and all from one vbulletin installation,

but i think that i will use a sub forums for other langages. and purhapse install another vbulletin+vbseo later
i hope it will cause no problem if i use forums and sub-forums to different langage !?

i will open new thread to see how vbulletin webmasters use langage in their forums.
