    Taking some optimization suggestions

I started with the default vBSEO settings and the sitemap generator. You can see it in action at Auto Forums since the begining of the site, over two months ago i beleive, now with over 10k posts here are the stats from google

    total indexed pages, 84
    PR 0

Obvisously i'm not pleased, impressed, amused or anything of the sorts.

Especially when i have another forum, default vBulletin, same modifications minus vBSEO products (no sitemap generator, no vBSEO), total index pages 142, PR 2 in under two months, and 100 posts total.

So i'm open to any and all suggestions to start getting some results from vBSEO.

Was your second site started at the same time, or was that a past experience?

Gaining PR has got nothing to do with vbseo. That's all on you. Gaining PR is only related to the quantity and quality of links from other sites pointing to yuor site.

vbseo helps with what's referred to as PR Distribution. That's the way that your website allocates whatever PR you've gained amongst the pages at your site. But vbseo doesn't create PR. It's your job to create pagerank by getting links.

With no pagerank, Google *might* never index your site. At minimum, you'll never see decent success if you have no pr.

You've got to get some links.

    Good luck, Ross

I've spent some money buying text links on automotive related sites on their highest PR pages to gain quality text links as well. All above PR2 most are PR4

    Dave,

It's still very early if you just installed the auto forums in June. I'm sure you'll see better results soon and the next Google PR update will likely result in you achieving some PR if you continue to build backlinks.

Have you tried our pingback/trackback feature? If you discuss some content being posted in related blogs our pingbacks/trackbacks may help you to develop some backlinks.

It is early, i was just hoping to see some results :(

I'm goign to start by adding more then just forums to the site, and create some regular old fashioned static html pages containing just information.

    we'll see how this goes

Watch your crawling activity as well. Many users report sudden jumps in their indexed page count. So Google might have crawled your content & it may appear on an update all at once or in large segments. Hang in there. SEO is frustrating due to the waiting involved (not to mention the fluctuations we experience from 1 day/week/month to the next), but pays great dividends in the end!
