Submitting to Bing Webmaster - Question

Hey all.

I have setup a Webmaster account with Bing, but cannot figure out the URL to submit to them for the sitemap. If I use the same URL that I use with Google (http://www.maskedcrusader.com/sitemap_1.xml.gz), they respond with a 404 Not Found error.

On the same note, I am not sure if I submit the correct link to Google. I do not have sitemap_1.xml.gz in my forum root directory. All I have is sitemap_index.xml.gz in my vbseo_sitemap/data folder.

Any idea what I am doing wrong here?

Hi Shane,

That URL belongs to the old sitemaps format. Now that you have upgraded to vBSEO Search Engine XML Sitemap 3.0 you should submit only your sitemaps index:

http://www.maskedcrusader.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz

The same thing for Google.
