Question Something up with Google Pagerank?

When I first installed vbSEO about a year ago, my page was a PR3. I haven't checked in ages, but today on a whim I tossed my site in, and though my traffic is WAY up, my pagerank is showing as zero on every tool I can find.

I have a ton of pages indexed, over 800k posts and the following stats, disregarding January.

Everything's up (adsense, posts, traffic) but my PR is now zero. Is this a bug, or should I be concerned?

    Cheers.

don't know about your down to PR0 but I know Pageranks have been updated recently about a week ago, if that's a content issue I would say the number of your archive links in the footer are maybe counterproductive , I know that spiders prefer pages with around 100-150 links and not much.

vBSEO CP -> Footer Archive Links -> Do not add Links to Archive Pages

This will disable that list of 400+ archive links.

I would also think about now showing the last post column to guest, this will cut down on your links via the forumhome template.

I actually did that for a time, but my members complained up a storm about it.

Happy members > pagerank, at the end of the day. :(

The members would never notice if you were only hiding that column from guests. Also I think the only benefit (imo) to the archive links in the footer is over once most of your urls are reindexed with the new vbseo urls. After that, ditch 'em. You said 800k posts indexed - I think it's fairly common to block showposts.php in robots.txt so that only whole thread pages are indexed, which helps with relevance and ultimately pagerank as well.

i've been a PR0 for 6 months now. ignore it. its a useless figure that holds zero value to anything other than link buyers.

If you want to optimize for SEO, unfortunately, you will need to get rid of the Flash.

Yes i have to convert my site from Flash to HTML. SO that crawler get content. There is new method to optimize flash sites that is put all content in html first. if user has flash plugin installed then site html content will be replaced with flash content. Moreover now content is coming from xml file which is crawlable. Let see what happen now.

    Thanks

Let us know how it works for you. I'm sure you see significant improvements. Without liberating your content from within Flash, the search engines will have a very hard time trying to determine what your site is about.
