I know that social bookmarking links are very useful for many reasons and I wouldn't want to remove them.

My question goes to how much (if any) negative effect there is in having so many outgoing links on every page, and if there is a way to minimise any negative effect?

I though of trying to use "rel = nofollow" but that strictly doesn't stop the links from being followed. Confirmation on this would be nice as well.
