    Question from SMF to vB

I would like to upgrade from SMF Forum to vB and would like to use vBSEO.
    I have some questions :
    - I am using Joomla. Do you think that i can use a vb bridge between Joomla and vB and in the same time use vBSEO ?

    - How can i upgrade my SMF Forums to vB?

    - If the upgrade is successfull, how can i make a 301 redirect to redirect all SMF topics and boards to vB topics and Boards.
    Thanks for your help.

Not sure about Joomla, but you can get help with your upgrade here: vBulletin 3.6 Import System - vBulletin Community Forum

All thread IDs change when you import, so there isn't an easy way to 301 redirect old threads to new ones. However, I think I read that the old thread IDs are stored in the database, so something may be possible.

The forum in my Sig was imported from SMF.

Before SMF i was on phpBB so I also used a phpbb to SMF importer before and had nothing but problems.

When i did the SMF to vBulletin it was much smoother.

I have successfully upgraded from SMF to vB using the ImpEx tool.
After the import, i have another script which role is to make 301 redirection of SMF posts and threads.

    Hey,

On the german forums there is an addon available for converting SMF to vBulletin (3.5.x) without loosing the ID's.

I'd suggest to you ask for this addon at vB.com to make sure that it will work in your case
