    Should I change my domain?

I have used vbseo on many of my sites, and for some reason I am having a hard time ranking well with google on it on my current website, usually do very well with it. I have been lucky to rank for the keyword I want with google on page 1 usually within 2 months or less...yes I know that is fast! But after playing with google for quite some time I really see that the domain name and the keywords in it is the MAIN factor for ranking for that keyword i want. Yes I am sure I will get tons of quotes and articles showing not but from MY experience I have had great luck by having the keyword i want in straight order of the domain name... for example my first site I ever started, got on google page 1 in less then 2 months and has stayed on page 1 of google for over a year still and the site only works on the first page rest of site is all broken but still is ranking for the keyword I want...yes I had a lot of backlinks but even got on google page 1 with little to none backlinks. The domain was RadarReviews.Net and the main keyword I want on page 1 of google is "Radar Detector Reviews" if you look on google now will see it is still on page 1 and forum is all shutdown and messed up.

Well I started another domain name, never developed...nothing really and it is on page 2 of google for this keyword, domain is RadarDetectorReview.net ...

Well after about 3 months I have been trying hard to get my domain ranked well for this domain name...and cant even find it past page 30 the domain I have now is "ARadarDetector.Com" well what I noticed is it does have the important keywords "Radar Detector" in it...however the letter "A" is in front of it...and google looks at the first word as the most important in a domain name FROM my experience

So with all this in mind...if I could get a domain name that started off with "Radar Detector" as the first part of the domain name and just another small keyword after that, then should I scrap my domain name I have now "ARadarDetector.Com" and see how I do?

What are your thoughts? Keeping in mind that I want to rank page 1 for keyword "Radar Detector Reviews"

The main thing to do is to stop moving around and STICK with one name. Every time you move, you basically start over from day 1.

If you're not happy with your current domain, you can move, but note that you will effectively be starting over again.

You are wasting time jumping from a domain to another. Like Brian mentioned stick with one name and you will do fine over time.
Speaking of changing domain names, I noticed there's an option on google's webmasters: change of address, I was wondering if you change a domain name and report it, does it save you all the efforts or you need to start from zero? and if that's the case why there's such option?

The option is availble to move, yes, but it still undergoes a bit of a re-indexing period. The old site doesn't drop out instantly.

In my google webmasters tools account I noticed that on the 301 redirect I was going to have all indexed pages go to Radar Detector Reviews & Radar Detectors Review Forum Reviews instead of aradardetector.com

Well there is a drop down box to select which site to move aradardetector.com to Radar Detector Reviews & Radar Detectors Review Forum Reviews however it doesnt show Radar Detector Reviews & Radar Detectors Review Forum Reviews in there to make this change...and yes it is verified both websites? How do I check to make sure google isnt treating aradardetector.com and Radar Detector Reviews & Radar Detectors Review Forum Reviews like 2 different websites?

I am going to take your advice and just stick with this domain...just frustrating...on page 27 right now for keyword "Radar Detector Reviews" usually on page 1 by now

Ok I changed it, sure enough in my .htaccess folder I had left example.com on the rewrite and never changed it to my domain

Do you think google has been treating my site like 2 different websites? I wonder if that is why I have had such terrible ranking?

its possible, but unlikely. it will usually go by what is set in the webmaster tools area anyway.
