    Search Engine Bots

Ok, what is normal for Bot Traffic?

It is not abnormal for me to have 20-50 yahoo bots roaming my site at any given time. My site isnt huge. I go to a much larger, much higher trafficed site like digitalpoint.com and there are 2 bots on site. This has gone on for a long time now, should I be concerned? I know bot traffic is good, but does an overdose of one cause the others to avoid the site in any way?

I used to get quite a few google bots searching at one time, and that would last for 3-4 days every 2-3 months. Now that never happens and I am lucky to see 1. As a result, google isnt finding my pages either.

Yahoo shows thousands, google shows 800

I dont see Googlebot being programmed to have any virtual fights with Yahoo Slurp, or leave websites because another bot is there, they arent that terrotorial. Yahoo usually tends to send quite a large number of bots during their first collection of visits; which might explain the abnormal number of them browsing your forums.
