It really depends on the actual type of content.

Is it a nationally syndicated item?
is it full text or summary?
will it stay on your site forever, or does it get pruned?

    Hi Brain,

Sorry I am not very technical. The content are mainly our own unique material, and they will stay forever. Language is Arabic, and we target the five GCC countries only.

I went ahead and got my feedburner feed, I put NO for Google and Yahoo indexing.

I want the feed to help me in SEO, I don't think I will be looking for many subscribers.

Here is my feed MeTuners.com Forums

    Thank you,
    Fahad

Oh, you are talking about YOUR feed. I was reading this as you were going to display from 3rd party feeds.

You have nothing to worry about with using your feed. Due to the vbseo ping service, everyone knows who had it first. So, even though others may show it, the weight of the page in serps should fall to you.

great, so should I allow Google and Yahoo to index the feed? seems like the default setting in Feedburner is NO.

At the moment my forums is 100% SEO ready, I just need some backlinks and contents to compete with the big boys in the region.

    Thanks a lot
    Fahad

I would suggest leaving it set to no. You have an XML sitemap that is far better than a feed.
