Rewrite archive to actual thread?

On one of my forums, I don't use vBSEO and I have the archive enabled. I am wanting to disable it, but I know that many of my archive pages are indexed and frequently are returned as results when searching Google. I don't want to lose that traffic by disabling the archive.

So does anybody know of a .htaccess rewrite rule that I can use just to rewrite archive URLs to the actual URL?

For example, rewrite forums/archive/index.php/t-1957.html to forums/showthread.php?t=1957.
And so on for the forum URLs.

When you disable the 'Display Simple View of Threads' option,
/archive/index.php/t-1957.html is automatically redirected to /showthread.php?t=1957

So it won't end up as a 404.
