Re-direct search engine results from thread to CMPS article

338 Edge is a keyword phrase in numerous threads on my site. I created a very good article with this term and want Google to send searchers to it instead of the rather ordinary threads containing this same search term.

Is there a way that I can re-direct from the thread to the article? Does Google care if I do that?

There's a way.. .htaccess 301 redirect each thread to the Article location.

That will effectively kill those threads off though, as nobody will be able to get to them any more.
