    Question about "Site:Domain" Query

I have VBseo installed on Vbulletin in a subdir http: // forums . prisonofficer . org

I have VBAdvanced installed in the website root at http: // www . prisonofficer . org

What have I done wrong to not have the whole site indexed the same.

    Site:Prisonofficer.org on google returns Results 1 - 10 of about 104 from prisonofficer.org.

    However, forums.prisonofficer.org returns
    Results 1 - 10 of about 347 from forums.prisonofficer.org.

Shouldn't the first one cover the subdomains as well? actually.. I read somewhere it would treat it as a separate site now that I think about it. Is there someway to get it to index it all under the same site or does it not really matter?

subdomains are considered separate sites in most search engines.
also, site.com/~user are considered separate sites as well.

    your results are normal.

however, the site: command is known to be inaccurate.

you're better off tracking your referrals FROM google with an analytics program.

There was a time when site:mysite produced 2 results.
yet, i was receiving nearly 7500 uniques from google each day.

I have been running Analytics from the time I put the site up however I have NO IDEA what I am reading. hehe The Siteomain was just easier for me. Any tips on what the helpful and useful info from the analytics I should be looking at?

Does it show the number of indexed pagees, etc?
