Problems setting up password protection on test forum

I have used a test forum for vBulletin for a little while. I used a current backup of my live vBulletin database, mysql it to a separate database for testing purposes for hacks, mods, etc. using 4.0.

I’m not sure where something went wrong, but when I upgraded my live site to 4.0, my test site is no longer behind password protection.

Every time I try to password protect my test forum folders via cpanel, the authentication login pop-up comes up on my live forum, as well as the test forum site.

My test forum is on a subdomain vbtest.mysite.com and the test forum is in my live site's directory mysite.com/vbtest

It was working just fine before; I think it has something to do with the .htacess file

I am running VBSEO 3.5.0 RC2 and do have a valid test VBSEO running on the test site.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Don't use cpanel... just do it direct.

follow thiese instructions, but instead of admincp/, make it your vbtest folder.

I figured out the issue, I've been racking my brain almost all day and then all of a sudden it hit me!

When we redesigned the new site, we had a new logo made. We didn't change logo path in the stylevar it still had the old test forum's path, so there for it was trying to load the logo that was in a protected folder and that is why the authentication box was popping up.

Sorry for the trouble. Strike another one up for the idiot, that's me!

PS - You can close this thread before I embarrass myself anymore.
