Preferred domain

In Webmasters it gives you three options:

Don't set a preferred domain
Display URLs as www.domain.com
Display URLs as domain.com

I have my domains set to www.domain.com and am doing an .htaccess to redirect.

Should I bother with this setting or should I go ahead and do the Display URLs as www.domain.com

It's recommended setting that option, so feel free to choose "Display URLs as www.domain.com".
