Only 50 pages indexed after almost 4 months?

    Hi guys,

I run a very large site with 60,000+ uniques a day.
We ran phpbb before and had hundreds of thousands pages indexed.

About 3-4 months ago we moved to vbulletin and installed vbSEO right off the bat. Some of the pages got indexed in google right away being the main topic pages that are linked right from the front page. After 4 months, these main topic pages have gone up to a PR of 4 already. However, the problem is that ONLY these pages have been indexed. Only some random archive and some random posts have been indexed (about 5 or 6) for a total of 56 pages.

I have installed vbseo and sitemaps and thorugh google.com/webmasters I can tell that google has been deeoply crawling my site because one day I took it my site offline and it showd a bunch of pages that where not found.

What could be going on? Coudl it be because I;ve been using this domain for 3 years so it doesnt add the new links/ Maybe I should create a new subdomain so google crawls it freshly?

Please help because site activity is starting to slowly go down on the forums.
    The url is onrpg.com

    Thanks!

    Hello,

Google is a bit messed up right now, and has been for a year.

but, I notice your site has a lot of graphic, this might be one of the reason bots aren't latching on to it..
another thing I'd suggest is taking advantage of the archive links with vbseo, this will help bots move around easier..
and you should use Relevant Replacements..

also, your forum links for the most part are images,, and yes it looks nice, this isn't as friendly to bots..

actually there are several things you could do to help out, I'll leave with this so far, but this is the misconception that ppl might have with vbseo,,
this product wont make your site number 1 by itself,, but it will help dramatically.. You as the admin still have some work to do to fully optimize your site
    Good luck

    Gabriel,

It could be a sandboxing issue. On top of that Google is up to some strange stuff lately with its index.

However, I did notice how you set-up your CRUs. I see that your threads do not appear to be within your forum hierarchy:

    Code:
    http://www.onrpg.com/boards/roleplaying/ (Forum)
    http://www.onrpg.com/boards/demons-emotion-17101/ (Thread)

    What is this sandboxing issue?
Ive seen it mentioned but Im not sure what it is.

Also, we did have the links in the proper hierarchies but I changed it a couple of days ago so that the links would be a bit shorter, thought maybe that would help.

Regarding the links through images, those are only 5 links on the top of the page, it shoudnt make a difference. Even the sitemap that has aboslutely no graphics doesnt seem to be indexing.

Here is a bit of info:
Sandbox Effect - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is only a theory, but seems to have some inconclusive yet supporting evidence.

It is possible that other factors could impact sandboxing.

Even if you are not seeing immediate results, it's important to maintain your URL integrity. The URL structure should NOT be changed, this will further delay indexing. How long ago did you change it?

Your site is huge, it should index like crazy with vBSEO. Please get back to me on the above question, I'll post more details then.
