    Not on Yahoo...

I'm sure there has been many of these, but this seems abnormal. My site has been online since 2003 running VBSEO for 3 years now(ver 3.2) with these kinds of stats on our forums:

    Total Threads: 83,999
    Total Posts: 1,444,316
    Total Members: 48,214

This doesn't mention the almost 17,000 product reviews written and 5 million page views last month.

I have a problem. YAHOO ISN'T LISTING US. Let's say, for the sake of a name, I have a site called www.littleREDwagons99.com. When we search on YAHOO for "LittleRedWagons99", the site does NOT show up. Many sites linking to our site do show up. Just not ours.

Any particular reason why this mght be?

PS: We do NOT have a robots.txt either.
    PSS: Google is just fine

I know this maybe a dumb question, but have you ever submitted it to Yahoo?

    Hi Tony,

Yahoo is know to treat forums vastly *less* favorably than Google. However, if you are not showing up in the index at all, it would appear that you might have been penalized for some reason.

Penalized? What penalty could we possibly have?

If you have absolutely no pages listed in Yahoo, this is a strange occurrence. When was the last time you know you had any pages index with Yahoo?

Well, I don't know if I have zero pages. How do I check? When I search for my domain, many other sites linking to me are there, just not me.

If you haven't done this already site up for Yahoo Site Explorer. Here you can submit your sitemap or rss feed and also see how many pages, if any, are actually indexed by Yahoo.

Now keep in mind that Yahoo usually doesn't index even close to the number of pages that Yahoo does. I think for my site Yahoo indexed about 30% of what Google did.

So submit your site, be sure to verify it, give it a week or so and see if inside of Yahoo Site Explorer the number of indexed pages starts to increase.

I somehow thought search engines spidered semi-popular, semi-busy, semi-old sites automatically...especially with using VBSEO. I'm not blaming VBSEO, I just want to get Yahoo involved more on our site. Just seemed strange that I would search for our domain and all the linking sites come up and ours is nowhere to be found.

I added the site to the YAHOO EXPLORER now. It's showing 7,842 inlinks to it. I also added the RSS feed to it. Think that will help? I need to get the VBSEO sitemap working too. It stalls out while building it.
