Not Found Urls Google

I have 805 urls google cannot find. Is there a certain reason for this? I am thinking I need to exclude something in robots.txt, but I am not too sure.

what is an example url?

make sure your sitemap settings match your forum settings.

ie, if you used 'replace show post with permalink" but include showpost in your sitemap, all those showpost urls will 404.

looks like old links... and they should 404.

did you have articles via vba in the past? portal.php is not part of vb, neither is viewforum.php. did you convert from another software?


404's are simply warnings... not errors. if the page doesn't exist, it SHOULD 404.

Alright. Just making sure that it won't hurt nothing.

Give it a couple weeks and you will probably start to see the number go down as Google deletes those pages from it's index.
