need advice before upgrading to 3.7 beta4

A few hours ago, I tried to upgrade my live Christian forums from 3.6.8 pl2 to 3.7 beta4 and it ran into too many database errors. I asked Jelsoft and they asked me to put back the original non-image vb files. They also asked me to disable the plugin system and also remove remove the htaccess code for vBSEO. I put the files back and its now normal.

I am thinking of trying it again but this time with the plugins switched off.
    My questions are:

    1. Should I disable vbseo or uninstall it? wouldn't this cause the friendly urls to go back to its default state and hence confuse the bots?

    2. What did Jelsoft mean by removing the htaccess code for vBSEO? Should I do that and how do I do that?

    3. Once all this is done and I install 3.7, can I put back vbseo?

    4. Is vbseo fully compatible with 3.7 beta2 ? If not how long should we wait.

    5. Any other recomendation?

    TIA.

You shouldn't have any problems running vBSEO on a 3.7.0 Beta 4 install.

I notice that *this* forum is also running 3.7.0 Beta 4 + vBSEO,
    without any problems.

    1) Disabling vbseo would make all indexed threads using the vbseo URL format would all be broken links.

    2) The .htaccess file is located in your forum root directory on your ftp. I do not see how that would get in the way at all.

    3) If you do decide to remove vbseo and upgrade, then yes, you can install it and uninstall it as many times as you like on the same domain that you registered with us.

    4) Meaning that if it works as it does on vbulletin 3.6.x, then yes. There are new features that came out with vbulletin 3.7.x, but with some tweaking (Most using our Custom Rewrite Rules (CRR)), then it will help you SEO your URL's.

    5) Suggestions as to what?

I have upgraded quite a few sites to vbulletin 3.7 Beta 3 and 4 from 3.6.8, all of which had vbseo on it, and the upgrade went super smooth. What database errors was it throwing out?

i'd HIGHLY recommend waiting to upgrade until 3.7 is gold. Yes, it does work (and is live here) but these guys also know what they are doing very well with the software.

If you site is live and active and takes post, you should never run ANY beta software on it, or RC software for that matter.

There's many bugs in the bug tracker at vb.com for 3.7 series still, and people are posting more bugs and run-in's daily.
