Move vbulletin files to another folder on server without affecting google

    Hi,
Is it possible to move all my vbulletin files to a folder without having to start all over again with indexed pages on google etc?

I have all files in the home directory of the server currently which wont work if I want to install a wordpress blog. I want to move all files to home/forums.

    Is this possible?

    Thank you!

ok thank you! Is it preferable to have the forum in the root or in the /forum directory? Otherwise if this gets messy, could I just install wordpress in a separate folder in the root?

Also if I want my forum to be under forums.onlydesigned.com will that improve my search engine rank on design forums?

If it's ok with your, installing the new item in a new folder is the better solution. I highly suggest against using subdomains in almost all circumstances that are the same product. Subdomains are treated as separate sites.

gmail.google.com -- the mail system has nothing to go with search
adsense.google.com -- ads have nothing to do with search

    and so on.

forum.yoursite.com DOES have everything to do with yoursite and should not be broken off.

Well ok then I'll install the new item in a new folder and keep the forum in the root as it is now. I currently dont have the subdomain: forums.onlydesigned.com, do you think I should use that instead of onlydesigned.com only?

No. do NOT use a subdomain for your site unless you have a seperate 'product' that deserves its own 'site'.
