Migrating Site onto New Server - Search Engine Concerns

Hello - I need to migrate my site to a new server and I am worried about my search engine rankings.

Are there things I should be aware of?

Name servers? Do they have to remain the same?

    IP addresses?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just so the domain name and URL layout remain the same, it shouldn't affect anything.

That would be great.. I remember something last time I did this that I thought related to name servers or was it ip or dns, I don't know, but half the people couldn't get to my site for 72 hours or something like that. I recall this pretty clearly, anyone know what I am talking about?
