When my forum was running PunBB, I noticed that every new post is being indexed by Google nearly instantly or the most within an hour.

After migrating to vBulletin, all the links has changed and definitely caused a lot of 404 errors. Been running vBulletin for a month now and Google is still not "actively" indexing my forum even if I have vBSEO installed. I've already submitted my forum URL to google and stating about the forum software migration that is causing a lot of links to be invalid.

Is there steps I should take when this is happening? The most I can think of is to redirect a 404 to the main forum page. Should I be using a 301 Permanent Redirect? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advanced.
