Long URLS , does it worth to change my url structure ?

Hi,

Unfortunately about 1 year ago I set long URL structure in my vbseo for thread URLs, they are like this :

/pet-news-conferences-seminars/480/southwest-veterinary-symposium-2012-dallas-texas.html

I am aware of traffic and indexation loss ...


Does it worth to change this structure to a smaller one ? if yes, is there a way to redirect the old type to the new one ?

Switching from one format to another is never a recommended practice when you have had vBSEO up and running for several years. How much have your stats decreased since you implemented this on your forums?

well its not a new forum and I really haven't tested other methods yet but I noticed that everyone is saying that shorter urls with less slashes are always better ... and I wonder if its possible to set a redirect for the old urls to new ones...

so you think that I shouldn't do this ? ( even with a redirect ? )
