Has anyone else tried Kontera as a google adsense alternative? I implemented over the weekend and so far I am fairly pleased with the reslts. I find the ads less intrusive and seem to be fairly relevant to the content in most cases.

That's the second ad service I've seen recently that expects you to supply your SSN without using a SSL form. Definately doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about signing up with them.... I think I'll pass.
I just put in zeros and will fax it to them when I am ready to be paid.
Still, the fact that they make it a required field, and don't use SSL, makes me wary of them... That says a lot about the security they use on the back-end to protect your SSN.
If you google them you will see mostly positive reviews and experiences. I would not fault the entire company because of one front end web developers mistake.
If they allow that type of mistake pass and make it to the web, it's a serious issue. I do web development for a large bank, and there's no way a non-SSL form asking for private data would ever make it to a production site. It has to pass through many reviews and security assessments.
Seeing that it actually did make it to their site makes me all the more scared...
