Just launched my website 2 weeks ago

I just recently launched my website. I would like to know if VBSEO will speed up the process of my website getting placed on the search engine? Also, how long is does this process usually take? I have checked on google but my website only shows up when I type in my site name.

I would also like some advice on how I can start attracting members to my site. I have started link exchanges with businesses related in the same industry. Do I need to do additional SEO work? Should i use google adwords? Thank you

The link exchange is a great idea, especially since you are choosing sites relevant to yours (i.e. same industry).

You can also try the pingback/trackback feature in vBSEO 3.0. By referencing or linking to blog entries related to your site, you can get relevant linksbacks to your site.

You might also consider paid directory placements or paid text links (re: http://www.vbseo.com/f104/traffic-ba...xt-links-6870/)

Google has been acting strange again this week. But once it settles down, I'm sure vBSEO along with your sitemap will help your indexed page count to take a jump.

How do I find out how many pages have been indexed? Can I view stats on vbseo?

Also I have been told that it can take months before I see my website on search engines. Is this true?

Indexing can take some time - it varies from site to site. Also, sometimes you will find that the *visible* index is different than the actual index. What this basically means is that Google may have crawled your site more completely, but is not yet showing the results in the index. Many websites experience large increases or decreases that are typically temporary fluctuations which a trend towards a higher indexed count over time. You are a new install, so I would not worry. Just monitor it over the next few weeks to see if it improves.

    James,

Is there special content you have that you could make private, therefore, requiring registration in order to see it?

Whatever the content, it would have to be prominently promoted and made *compelling* or *exciting* enough (with a hook) to get them to make the leap and register.

hehe, welcome James. You should spend some time reading thru the many reviews and progress reports that are listed on this site. You'll be able to read for yourself how vbseo has helped or not helped people in various situations.

It could take awhile or, maybe not. It all depends on how you SEO'd. It is all up to the search engines on when they find you and where you are ranked on the page.
