intro page

on my new site i installed my vb inside forums folder and out site i have a intro page with flash .
would it be better for seo to have a potal page and not a intro ?
by portal I talking about vbadvance.

i'm not a fan of anything resembling a 'portal', but an intro/splash is just an outright horrible idea.

so what you recomend to use out side forum folder as index ?

if you don't have a 'site' to go along with your forum, put the forum in root.

a friend recommend wordpress to explain what forums is about and add monthly news letter there so have same topic but different content .

is this a good idea or move vb out to root is still best option?

if you're going to have a 'site', then yes, that's fine. Once a month might be a little lame though. I'd try for weekly, if not bi-weekly to keep the site fresh.

if you're just going to re-display the same things the forum does (ie, vba), then i think it's worthless.
