if i get a click in with "blue acme widgets with wings and a hat" and it is position 1 and gets me ~200 hits a day
and
if i get a click in with "blue widgets" and it is position 9 but gets me ~10000 hits a day
I'd be programmatically deleting my better of the 2 resources based on search popularity, not just position of some completely random string.
Being 200 on the other one, i wouldn't be able to set it that high without the risk of missing out on lesser trafficked paged.

If you add 200, 300, 400 keywords in the thread Google will take only the first 17 or 16 words so why I add all these other keywords since Google will not read all of them ?
People when trying to make a search on google type a very short words for example :
I want to make a search on google about vBSEO, What the keywords that's customers will type in Google ?
300 person will type vBSEO
200 vbseo.com
100 vBulletin SEO
50 vBulletin SEO Forums - The leading SEO Plug-in.
So what's the best keyword I will looking for it and focus on it to be the 1 position in search engines ? Sure the only word "vBSEO".
Perhaps you havenīt understood this hack clearly.
It doesnīt adds meta keywords. It only adds this keywords under the thread as additional text.
- I am NOT advocating using 200,300 or more words....
Im talking about using 15,20, maybe 25 but thats it.- This is mainly useful for most sites on thread pages, where they are finding them already by typing in "long tail" search queries, NOT a sites homepage where a lot of the searches are branded etc.
- Analyse the amount of traffic that a popular thread receives through google analytics, then check the referring keywords, then check their serps, and whether they appear on your thread exactly as people are searching for them. A lot (most) of the time they will NOT appear exactly as being searched for. Add them to your thread. In time (a few weeks) the position for those terms will rise in google. THATS what this plugin does!! its not sinister!!
Thanks Martin,
Maybe I will give it a whirl.

I'm going to try it, but imho it would be nicer to have it as a suggestion tool for new tags that are added on vbulletin's internal tag system, i know it will have less effect but it would be way more useful to in-site users and look more legit.
But i appreciate, the effort you put in this plugin. gj
I like the idea.
At one point we considered adding it to vBSEO, it would have been called "RefTagging". Later on we determined it could potentially be identifiable by Google, especially if implemented on thousands of forums simultaneously.
We considered adding some built-in AI to the process, using thresholds to make it more natural-looking and *virtually impossible* to detect algorithmically, but still desisted from adding it to vBSEO at the time. A few thresholds you might want to consider:
Overall I like the concept, and would like to see what kind of returns people see after implementing it.
- time threshold: not adding the keyphrase immediately (configurable range of time when it would be added ex. 3 days later OR, "smart wait", until *after* next spider visit)
- threshold on # of referrals: do not include if keyphrase has not referred X number of users
- threshold on SERP position: include only if SERP is between X and Y (the wider the range, the less relevant phrases are included)
- threshold on content: include (or not) if kephrase departs X% from existing keyphrase on page (u need an advanced algo for this)
Edit: Sorry I missed this post. I see you are already considering conditionals, good thinking.
I assumed it was for tags too but now I realize it is content added at the bottom of the page. Someone care to share a screenshot?
