Hi everyone,
So I found and heavily modified a script that displays the last x threads that have been posted in (new posts bump threads to the top). The original script I found produced an error, didn't work even after I fixed the first error and tried to produce a generic table.
It now works fine ( I have vBulletin 3.6.4 ) and displays an html ul list with two css classes so the user can adjust presentation - one class for the thread title and link and one for the (last_poster @ time) part.
Outputs a list to look like this:(that was actually copy/pasted from the output)
- FS: Ironhorse SGS Expert Medium Complete Bike (Rob @ 12/13/06 10:26 PM)
- Sat 12/16 Long ride? (singletrakk @ 12/13/06 10:21 PM)
- Glasses, what kind do you wear? (downhillross13 @ 12/13/06 09:44 PM)
- Lights Q? (jfromlv @ 12/13/06 09:33 PM)
- Say thank you to good posts (Wildcat @ 12/13/06 09:28 PM)
- What transports your Bike? (cru jones @ 12/13/06 09:17 PM)
- STR Swap Meet (downhillross13 @ 12/13/06 09:15 PM)
- Fall over on stage anyone? (downhillross13 @ 12/13/06 09:14 PM)
THE QUESTION:
I'm sure a lot of vB owners will find this useful. SEO-wise, is it wise to include a link to my site in the script, such as "recent posts by SocalTrailRiders.org" at the bottom? It will build backlinks but will having links from unrelated sites hurt me more then help me?
edit: THE SECONDARY QUESTION
The script currently displays the URL as showthread.php?t=xx. How do I rewrite that to be like the URL's that my vbSEO uses?
