Anyone notice any improvements?
Will I need to re-add this modification everytime I upgrade a template?
Yes, you'll have to readd it if you are not doing it via the relevant replacements. If you are, just make sure you have the vbseo code in the template and you'll be fine.
I've gotten great results from this but I've had it implemented since before this thread was made. I coded my h tags into my RR's and I've gotta tell ya, this has given me awesome results. I rank number 1 for terms I was/am not even trying for. I think it is probably the MAJOR reason I went from around 2,000 uniques a day last year to 15,000 uniques a day this year.
I tried h1 tags and implemented in one of my site i will get benefitted.
but i am not getting much traffic to my website what i have to do anybody could help me? happyhyderabad.com

H1 to H6 tags set the priority in decreasing order of your website. So try to use H1 tag in your website.
Thanks for information.
Wikipedia also pays for 10,000's of AdWord keywords .... I am one that could care less about H1 tag at all and it is just speculation to begin with and nothing really proven. Now bing says they like the H1 tag - Bing results are in yahoo now so it may hold some weight...

Actually I am not wrong ... It is you "OPINION" that H1 is important ... It is my "OPINION" that they are not. I get top listings without any H1 junk ... I have keywords that have 99,000 searches and I am on page 1 without any H1, No AdWords, or anything.. Just plain pure proper marketing ...
Many of my authors and members enjoy top listings with no H1 tag ....
