Impact of Adding New Forums

What would the expected impact be on adding new forums? If I recall, a drastic change in site content can sometimes effect SERP's. If I was to add 10 new forums or so, should I expect a hit on referrals?

I don't think you would see a huge change in your referrals simply because of adding new forums. However, it will distribute your PageRank a bit thinner due to the new links. Sometimes the biggest consideration in adding new forums is making sure you're going to have enough posting activity there to keep people interested, otherwise, they may become under utilized.

Thanks Joe. I do not think that the forums will be utilized heavily, but know some good content will come from them, so they are worth the slight risk you mention. Thanks for that!

On a second note, what about changing the description of current forums? Right now they are not keyword relevant, so I want to change them. Any negative impact in the short term of doing this?
