There are a lot of custom settings that wouldn't apply to your site.

But, the vBSEO.com URL Format is available as a Pre-Set in the URL Rewrites dropdown of vBSEO 3.0.0 RC8.

IMPORTANT: This is a SET-IT AND FORGET-IT! feature. Once you select your URL structure here, it is STRONGLY recommended NOT changing these settings again. Doing so will directly impact URL integrity, losing valuable incoming links and search engine positioning.

looks risky i haven't changed that section in anyway, yet i see Current Preset: Custom Settings so i guess i must have already

i better not choose any of the 1 - 5 preset settings then. Hmmm....

    but at the top there's

    Download/Backup your Current Settings

vbseo_urls.xml Backup ONLY your 'URL Rewrite Settings'
Share your 'URL Rewrite Settings' with other users.

why say This is a SET-IT AND FORGET-IT! blah blah blah but then at the top it's got share settings etc. i bet others share them to see the difference without even knowning that they shouldn't be messed with once you choose a preset

    I'm confused now Keith heh
is it ok to use the default vbseo settings
that's what id prefer to use!!

not going to change from my current settings (whatever they are) to the default vbseo settings if it causes my rank to drop etc.

Well, once you determine your set-up, you can publish it in the forums here so that others can try it during their install. We definitely do not recommend playing with new settings once vBSEO is in place.

And, of course, it's good to have a backup of your settings available, especially if you don't use one of the defaults.

I see how can that be a little confusing. We'll look into changing this to make it consistent with the URL rewrite settings option.
