Keep adding quality content relating to that keyword.

Well my keyword is sports card forum and it describes my whole site basically. What should I do to make it higher? Just include it on all the pages or what?

It is all in the content. Including the words are not going to do you any good. Create as many solid topics regarding sports cards, as well as articles on the topic, and get many other sites linking to these quality threads and articles.

A long term answer would be to buy the domain. forums and forum are available in the .net extension and redirect your domain to that.

    Mike,

I have just purchased those two urls to redirect to my page. What type of redirects do I need to do for this? Thanks

Redirecting a new domain to your site isn't going to help with search rankings. It'll catch any type-in traffic, that's about it.

Another alternative is to sell your site to me.

So basically doing a url rewrite wouldn't help at all. All I am going to get is someone who types sportscardforum.net or sportscardforums.net in.

That would be referred to as a "301 redirect", not a URL rewrite.

Sorry, I am new to these concepts. This is the first site that I have actually had to do SEO on because the company I work for has a dedicated SEO person. But he is out ill :(

The 301 redirect would also pass along the value of any backlinks the domain has. So, if you had a bunch of existing backlinks to sportscardforums.net, and they include your target keyword, then you may see some increase in your SERP. But, if there are no existing backlinks, then yea it would be just any type in traffic.
