Once they are set (either default or customized), forget that that option exists!!
I just found a great site with awesome indexing (vBSEO'ed URLs) with tens of thousands of 401s (pages not found) as user switched URL format without entering proper 301 redirect rules :(Juan Muriente / Crawlability Inc.

Mine is still dropping. At first I thought it was my upgrade to RC3 so I almost changed it back until I saw this.

yeh, mine were low, than went up to about 200,000 now are back to 25,000. I contacted google regarding this and their response was 'the google does what it wants... ... we have no control over what the google indexes' hahaha
