    How to stop link spam

I am getting a lot of link spam on my forums with members registering and either posting pron or links. I have captcha and also email verification. as another deterrent i want to remove the ability to post links within the body of the post but cannot find where to do this in my vbulletin admin backend. Can anyone here help me im sure its probably quite simple

    Thanks

There are several modifications available on vbulletin.org to stop same.

I used a slightly modified version of a mod available at vb-org.

The mod prevents the posting of live URLs in posts for members having less than 5 posts.
(Tweaked and included the filter for posting emails too).

Let me know if you want my XML. I can't seem to find it over at vb-org right now.

To prevent live URL/EMail posting completely at all :

AdminCP -> vBulletin Options -> vBulletin Options -> BB Code Settings

Uncheck the Allow Link BBCode option and [Save].

Spam Decimator with the nice red button is one spam stopper
    Spam Decimator - vBulletin.org Forum

    And check4spam
    Check4SPAM - Advanced SPAM Search & Destroy! - vBulletin.org Forum

I use both with great results

I forgot about this one as well

Stop the Registration Bots - vBulletin.org Forum

Its surprising how many emails that will generate about bots trying to register.

That way you end up with three levels of security. First point being at register, then key words and if they beat all that, you just ban them anyway

There is a web site that gives htaccess rules for banning complete countries, if you want to go one stage further, which Im looking at doing myself. I only ever get the odd mobile phone advert now
