    Homepage & Sitemap: Pages with duplicate meta descriptions

    Google Webmaster Tools reports that my homepage and archive have duplicate meta descriptions / duplicate title tags.

    What should I do?

    disable the archive, remove it from site map.

    The vb archive is 100% not needed. It was the stupidest thing vb ever did.

    instead of making their real software SE friendly, they added another version of the same content.

    with vbseo, the archive is 100% useless, and in fact will HURT your rankings, as you will have 2 pages with the same results, thus you are fighting yourself in the serps.

    kill it.

    I made all the changes and I re-generated the sitemap and it has the same number of URLs in it. Should this be the case?

    Well after looking my best producing banner is not the archive. But, my archive top banner is the third best producing. Are you saying I could possibly have better results without the archive in other areas?
