    Help with problem please.

    Hi

I had vbseo installed on my forum but just recently uninstalled it as it created huge headaches by not updating when I made changes to the forum. I’m hoping someone here can give me some insight as to why this might be happening.

I’m not dishing vbseo but trying to get it to work with what I have on my web site. Vbseo is a great product but for some reason I’m having problems with it on my site which very well could be something on my site causing this just to make that clear.

VB3.7 , photopost, review post, classified ads, GARS, Andrews download from VB.org is what I have installed.

I have submitted several support tickets here and I must say the response has been first class and I thank them for that but the problem still is present to the point I uninstalled vbseo.

Weather the problem is due to photopost, reviewpost, classifieds I’m not sure and was hoping someone here might know.

If I change a forum name, category name or add a new forum or category vbseo does not update to reflect those changes, the link to those would come up as an error.

Recently I had a new style added to the forum, admin for photopost, reviewpost, classified ads disappeared until I uninstalled vbseo and than the links to admin worked again.

This might be the fault of those products and not vbseo but as they are an important part of the web site I can not go without them.

At this point I dare not reinstall vbseo until I can be sure it will not cause further problems.

Could it be some server setting causing vbseo not to update or reflect the changes?

PS: I can only answer basic questions as to vbseo setting as I had the folks here install it and set it up.

    Any ideas, suggestions welcome.

If those applications are under your forum directory, you should put an .htaccess file in each directory with this line in it:

    RewriteEngine Off

That prevents vBSEO's .htaccess in your forum root from controlling those directories.

    Thanks Keith

But will that solve vbseo not updating changes on the forum that I mentioned?

That sounds like an issue with the datastore. Not sure why it would only affect you though.

Are you using vBulletin's defaults for the datastore or have you changed it to use a file, etc?

I just tried for the last 2 hours to get vBSEO installed and to no avail.

After uploading all files and installing the product everything works with default settings. After going into vbseocp.php and changing any options (no matter if it was one options or many options) All pages would go white, including all forum pages, vBSEO pages, along with any other vBulletin powered page.

After uploading all files, and install ting the product, urls got rewritten into http://domain.com/forums/VBSEO_URL_HERE type name (it actually said VBSEO_URL_HERE and not an actual working URL)

I don't understand why this will not work as advertised, getting a bit frustrating.
