Yup, that is what it is. So I am just waiting on VBSEO support to get back to me with an update on what they've found.

Look forward to hearing the answer. I'm having the exact same issue, except some of my sitemaps work and some don't. I haven't had a chance to set up ftp access to my site yet so vbseo support can check it out, so I hope your resolution will help me out too.

Are you on php 5.3.x?

Hi Esther, they fixed my issue when I gave them full access. This is what they wrote to me, "The issue is related to incompatibility of set_magic_quotes_runtime() function with PHP5.3.x , I have corrected the issue."

I was able to figure out what was going on with my sitemaps. For some reason, our system was running vbseo_sitemap.php twice every day, once as a scheduled task in admincp, and once as a cron job. The sitemaps were fine when I ran them via command line or via admincp, but when the cron ran, the files would become corrupted. I turned off the cron job and now sitemaps are fine.

Can anyone tell me what exactly is this fix? Because I am facing the same issue, not too long ago, the sitemaps were working fine and sadly I do not know, when they stopped working, whether it was as soon as I upgraded to php 5.3.x or a few days ago, when I was trying to install wordpress network in forum root and it ended up causing redirect issues.

Please make sure you are on sitemap 3.0 PL1 as this (and all 5.3.x) issue was addressed.
