    Google search question

    Curiousity question here.

I've had vBSEO for almost a month now. I've had my site criitiqued here and have made most of the changes suggested. And, when I type into a google search "dumont nj forum" (no quotes) I'm not the 2nd site listed anymore. As a matter of fact I didn't see my site on the first page.

I thought vBSEO was going to optimize my site and give me an edge?

I'm not complaining just maybe ignorant about the situation. Can somebody clear this up for me?

    Thanks!!

    Hi Robert,

It looks like Google is still in the process of re-indexing you. on page 5, i see some non-seo'ed URLs still in their index (shwothread, etc)
    http://www.google.com/search?q=site:...&start=40&sa=N

Just hang tight. You're site is still very small, and thus is not a very high priority to google. It will take a bit longer to be fully indexed and start ranking well again.

Brian it's been over a month now and I'm just curious since I respect your opinion to know your opinion.

How's my site's ranking doing now?

    A) Better
    B) Same
    C) Worse - Can't imagine it can be this one but I would want to know.

    Thanks.

You have FAR more seo'ed urls in the index now than the last time i looked. I vote A. Your key now is to really start getting content/threads together.

I've checked my site on Google by typing in "dumont nj forums" (no quotes) and I'm 2nd to this website that is not vBulletin which in turn doesn't have vBSEO obviously.

There was no posts at that site until the 3rd or 4th day of the year and it isn't heavily visited to begin with. My site is not huge by any stretch. It's about 7 months old, 6 month with vBSEO.

The only thing I can think of is that other site is much older than mine. Beside that fact my site see more trafiic and posts.

Why am I number 2 and not number 1?

    Thanks!!

nj.com will be a tough site to beat.

2-letter TLD's were all sold out back in 1994 or so..... so that site has been there a LONG time.

The good news is that you are beating out topix, which is also well established and has a lot of age to it.

Just keep doing what you're doing. ranking 2 behind a site like that is very well done in my eyes.
