Google Duplicate Content Flaw: Not So Perfect After All

There are a few people out there that trust Google and the rest of their search engines to properly remove the duplicate content on their site and index the proper page. Why they trust a computer algorithm written by humans that indexes billions of pages is beyond me.

I was searching for some pictures just now and came across a perfect example of how Google does not properly detect duplicate content. Now while it is obviously benefiting this site this goes to show you that it can be turned around and hurt others as well.

Take a look at this picture: http://www.mustangevolution.com/brent/flaw.jpg

Notice the two entries on the first page for a pretty decent niche keyword. Now look at those urls. Two completely different domains with the exact same content. On top of that both of those urls redirect to another

    These are the urls:
    http://www.autosite.com/content/shared/articles/templates/index.cfm/article_id_int/1357
    and
    http://www.autobytel.com/content/shared/articles/templates/index.cfm/article_id_int/1357

Once clicked they redirect you to this url:
    http://www.myride.com/research/index.html

One can only wonder how many people are having their sites hurt by allowing Google to choose which pages to index and which pages not to index.

This also strengthens my belief that Google does not properly handle redirects and that they can be too easily manipulated.

I totally agree this and also i believe google cannot handle duplicate contents right.
    For example :
    Code:
    Hrant Dink - Ayyas
Hrant Dink, 1954 yılında Malatya’da dünyaya geldi. Babası Sivas'ın Gürün ilçesinde, annesi Gülvart ise Sivas'ın Kangal ilçesinde doğup büyümüştü.
    www.ayyas.com/murekkep-hokkasi/16753-hrant-dink/ - 20k - Supplemental Result -
How can google thinks that thread as supplemental result i have no idea. That is directly a thread url. They make mistakes like this all the time and it really pisses me off sometimes.

supplmental results are not necessarily related to duplicate content.

most the time, it happens when google can't access a link it previously was able to.
so, instead of just removing it, it makes it suplimental until it can re-scan it ok.

if you had downtime or server issues, thats when you get a lot of sup's

I can see why two different domains with the same content would give problems for the google algorithm, however it's bad practice of the site admin and should be punished. But to be honest, i don't care if they hurt anyone, in the end black hat seo will never win from quality content and proper seo techniques.
