Google dropping thousands of pages...

Has this happened to anyone else ? I used to have 250,000 pages cached in google. (by typing site:www.mysite.com in the google search) But now I only have 40,000. They keep dropping more and more of my pages every week it seems. And i've never been penalized and never do any negative techniques. All my pages are quality posts as well.

In other words , About a year ago I had 250,000 in the index...during that time and up until now the amount of pages has been slowly eroding.. (example 200,000 , 150,000 , 110,000 , 80, 000 etc.etc)

i'm down about 30,000 too.

I wouldn't worry about it.... its just google being google and re-organizing stuff.

The key thing to watch is your SE traffic nautral referrers. I may be down 30k pages, but my se traffic is normal

Cool Brian, glad to hear its not just me. Search engine traffic has been better actually.. Which makes me wonder if the number were actually being presented is incorrect...then again who has the time to click through more then 40,000 page results in google ? hmmm..

Mine has dropped from 100k to about 40K..... same traffic though according to analytics

Hello I have the same problem from 240,000 to 40,000 but i have lost also guests/spiders, before every days i had about 150/200 of them, and in the stats of yesterday in google analytics my visits are dropped to 0.

You are getting 0 hits now? How long has this persisted?
