    Google Analytics

Guys, by the looks of it, your using Google analytics on this site, which is actually causing your site to crash within browsers at certain times. I would honestly get rid of it until Google fix their problems and sort the load criteria out with the service.

I haven't seen any issues with it causing the site to "crash" here, or on my site....

This site has frozen firefox for me now several times in the last couple of days, each time stuck on aquiring Google analytics server. There is a myriad of problems with it currently. Use it or not, each to their own really. I think the sheer overload of the bemused new toy from Google has near crashed the server hourly from reports.

Haven't had any issues at all with IE or FireFox here. Strange....

Not being able to access a .js inseid a <script> tag shouldn't freeze you up anyway. It should just skip over it. Otherwise, all the thousands (millions?) of sites running Google's Adsense ads (mine included) would probably have lots of lockup issues too, if their ad servers were down.

If it is causing you to lock up, it sounds more like a browser issue. What version of FireFox?

Running the current version... I think adsense servers are capable of handling the load at present, I don't think they planned on the overload of Google analytics though... it is strange though... I remembered reading at all the main hangouts that many people where having problems accessing it for server load, and sites lagging and so forth, browsers freezing, etc etc, because of the sheer load put on the new feature. Nothing else seems to do it, just this forum, and only occassionally.

Quite strange really... I might give loading it over the top a go, just to see if any corruptions exist...

Latest FireFox as in 1.5 RC3, or latest release version (1.0.7)?

Maybe an Extension? Try running FireFox in Safe Mode for a while and see if it continues.

When FireFox installs, it adds an icon for (Safe Mode) as well as the normal icon.

Yer, I think it might be my previous reason to this:

Over at SEW, Gary looks at whether Google Analytics temporarily shut down new registrations because it couldn't take the strain or as part of a clever marketing effort to create buzz.
I'm getting reports from lots of folks about this, as the sheer demand is freezing browsers awaiting G analytics to load. Sites are loading, but unusable as such, as they pause whilst awaiting the analytics script to load.

People are debating whether its a load problem or marketing, but from the feedback I have viewed in some forums, the load seems to be taking the cake. They have shut down already registered users from tracking more sites than they have currently setup also, not just new registrations.

It seems quite inline with Googles free launching problems, from Orkut, Web Accelerator, Google Earth and more. They continuously under estimate the impact that initial interest seems to poise for them from these accounts.
