Google AdSense Alternatives - Seth Godin

Seth Godin Comments on Google AdSense Alternatives

Seth notes a recent blog entry at the ProductWiki blog that compares Google AdSense vs. Shopping.com Merchant Listings in which the latter beats AdSense by an eCPM factor of 4.6.

Note: The statistics were gathered using limited data which can be impacted by various factors at the site. Godin notes this when he says:

ProductWiki Blog: Don’t settle for Google AdSense

    Notes on vBSEO
    • vBSEO includes an AdSense targetting feature since we know that a large number of our customers generate revenue from CPC advertising (specifically Google AdWords). However, we would like to investigate popular alternatives so that the additional Web traffic vBSEO generates for a forum meets its maximum revenue generating potential.
    For Discussion
    • Will Seth notice the vBSEO forums acting very much like a blog when pinging and tracking back to his blog?
    • Have you read any of Seth Godin's work? Are you a fan? Have you applied any of his marketing concepts for your forum or website?
    • Have you tried Shopping.com merchant listings? Did you receive positive or negative results?
    • Can you help give Seth insights into "how and why people behave" related to website ad clicks?

Those types of ads don't work well for all niche's though. I can guarantee that they would make far less money than Adsense on my site.

    Ditto.

They probably work wonders on sites like the exmaples that talk about electronics and such...

But I HIGHLY doubt shopping.com has a feed for the best price on a Tial 38mm wastegate

I submitted to Kanoodle - The Leader in Content Targeted Sponsored Links on the Web's Best Sites , they don't even reply to me. And it costs $1 just to submit....big rip off

Oh I see now why in my control panel:

Kanoodle limits distribution of BrightAds to Web sites that reach a primarily North American audience. Because your site appears to be geared towards foreign markets, we don't believe it can work well with BrightAds.
As if you can't buy from another country over the internet.
